Museum of Jewish Heritage, NYC, with link to discussion!

From Tuesday, July 28th, through Thursday, July 30th, 2020 the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City and A Closer Look offered at home streaming of Children of the Inquisition. Then, on Thursday, July 30th, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM (EDT) the museum presented a virtual discussion moderated by Director Joseph Lovett, with a total of 638 program registrants, almost 300 simultaneous virtual views of the discussion, and 605 unique views of the film itself. From the film: Prof. David Gitlitz – Historian, author of Secrecy and Deceit, Living in Silverado and others, and expert on Crypto-Jewish history. Doreen Carvajal – New York Times journalist, author of The Forgetting River, and descendant of Diego Arias D’Avila, finance minister of Castile. Carlos de Medeiros – Brazilian artist, former seminarian, and descendant of Branca Dias, the most infamous victim of the Portuguese Inquisition. 

With: Jason Guberman – Executive Director of the American Sephardi Federation. Keith Stokes – Historian and author, immediate past-president of the Touro Synagogue Foundation, descendant of Newport, RI early African American and Jewish families. Anna Guerra – Psychotherapist, descended from 16 generations of Crypto-Jews in Laredo, Texas.
